I love makeup and beauty products and jumped at the chance to review some of Beauticontrol's new cream eyeshadows and lipgloss. I could tell I would love the colors and was excited to test them out. I typically wear powder eye shadow in browns and beiges- so I also knew that some of the color's that I was testing would push my envelope a little! I tried out Rich Gold, Smoke Shimmer, Black Ruby, and Sugar Plum cream eye shadows. The Rich Gold was my favorite color of the four. It is more of a champagne color so it works with silver or gold accessories. I wish that the shadow would have been a little more creamy than it was. I felt like it went on a little flakey- but maybe that is the look, like flecks of gold. I think the color and opacity of it works well for day or night. You can build the color with it which is nice.
The lip gloss I tested was Ravishing (ruby red color) and Rosy Gold (medium pink). They were both a smooth, glossy texture and I was glad to find they were not too sticky- a problem I often have with lip glosses. They also didn't have a taste or smell that I noticed which is a plus. The colors were both nice and soft and not opaque- just what you would expect from a gloss.
I think that all of these products could be used for a fabulous, romantic Valentine's look. Just add a little black eyeliner and some pink blush and you have a lovely look for the holiday!
