Testimonial Tuesday

Testimonial Tuesday

Today I want to share a baking secret of mine. Our house likes to make cookies and cookie dough quite often, so much so that it has become my specialty. But my secret ingredient in baking cookies and keeping them soft starts with the "butter". I use Crisco Baking Sticks!

For those that have never used this easy product look how they label it for you!

For my chocolate chip recipe I just use the recipe on the back of Toll House chocolate chips bag, which I have memorized by now.

This week I tried something a little different. I wanted to make Halloween cookies, but didn't want to mess with frosting. Pinterest to the rescue. I made my own version of Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies with food coloring.

I used my regular cookie recipe but added 1 tsp of mint extract and crushed up Andes mints to the batter.

Don't they look amazing even though they are green?

Did you make Halloween treats this year?

Testimonial Tuesday

Well things have been a little crazy in our schedule lately so I am hoping to get back on routine. So here is this week's testimonial.

For those of you who like to have their nails look nice (that doesn't mean just for those that get them done at a salon), I have a great product for you.

As you can see with my nails the cuticles are often dry and cracked.

With the Cuticle Oil Pen it is so easy to soften and moisturize my cuticles. Just take the cap off, twist the bottom to push the oil up into the brush and away you go. It feels great!

An extra bonus on this product is the slanted lid that is the perfect fit to push back cuticles as well.

It is recommended that if you regularly to use oil on your nails at least once a day. With this no mess/fuss pen it is a fast task to mark off my to do list each day. And they looks so much better after.

Hope everyone is enjoying their October/Fall celebrations!

Testimonial Tuesday - 10/8/13

Testimonial Tuesday

Every so often I get on a major organizing kick. I'm sure my husband thinks I'm crazy when I go into these modes, because I seem to pick the most random things to organize. Last time it was my jewelry armoire (fancy sounding I know). I love the one we got from Nebraska Furniture Mart (similar to this but on it's own stand). I drove the hubby nuts visiting it every time we were in the store debating on the price. Then during the year of our 5th anniversary (wood for those traditionalists) I found that the floor model was on sale, just missing a few drawer pulls. I got it and loved it for 2 years.

Unfortunately I have become a little bit of jewelry hog and not everything was fitting inside anymore. I admit I have too many necklaces, but really how many is too many? One day in Menard's I had an "ah ha" moment. Why not try command hooks? If they didn't work, at least I was only out $5 and not adding a bunch more jewelry cases to my table. I got the smallest hooks I could find.

I placed them above and in between the original necklace hooks. They work GREAT for longer necklaces.

It's been great and I actually feel like I can see everything now. They are holding up really well especially with the heavier pieces. I have yet to have a hook come off.

Here is a full shot of the inside. Someday I will be able to downsize a bit, but maybe only to make room for new things.

What is your next project to organize?
